I've got a large BGM that has grown like paint spilled out of a paint can onto a bare bottom reef. I am going to put some sand in the tank and I obviously don't want to bury this coral. How should I go about cutting along the edge of the "paint spill"? Keep in mind the coral is attached and I'll have to trim it in the tank. Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Would you guys suggest using the razor blade to cut along the margin and then pop it off the bottom? Or should I just pry it up and let it break away at the margin?

I would just try and "slip" the blade under and outer edge and kinda just work your way around the whole thing and pry it up. SLOWLY. LOL
