I have a frag plug of reverse space monsters that has reached out and is growing on the rock it is wedged in. Is there a way I can cut the frag off or out so I can trade it?

I’ve watched some fragging videos. But this picture is what I want to do, can I cut these tubes?

I cut mine in tank with a razor blade all the time.. Once it grows to rock.. I cut the frag loose then trade it.. I cut the mat between polyps.. Then iodine dip plug and put on rack for few weeks to heal..

Do not do this out of water, and wear gloves, paper mask and goggles.
Don't wash or rinse any tools or equipment with hot water. Palys can release palytoxin, which can be extremely toxic if it comes in direct contact with skin or is made aerosol by splashing, squirting or via steam/hot water.

Palys are really soft and squishy, I have no idea why some are suggesting bone cutters for something as hard as an overcooked noodle...

Personally I would gently separate it from the rock with a scalpel or hobby knife, I would not cut the stalks.

I fragment them all the time.. The more you frag the more comfortable you feel with it.. This is a razors edge.. Because you should never get so comfortable you forget techniques.. Gloves.. Goggles.. Well ventilated area ( simple as creating a cross breeze by opening windows) no open wounds on hands arms.. Never rub your eyes wipe your face etc.. With hands during fragging.. Just be safe and have fun..

Is it ok to cut them in the tank? I want to leave the ones stuck to the rock and take the frag out to trade.

I saw you said “cutting tubes”. I wanted to make sure you’re cutting the mat and not the actual stalks. I’ve dragged hundreds of these boogers (always done out of water to be honest). Just make sure you cut through mat :) more preferably where it’s already thinned/stretching.
