Cutting plate rock

Can anybody advise any tips regards cutting plate rock , in particular cutting the stem like stub on the bottom so as it's a flat surface please?
Does a bimetal hacksaw blade cut into it ok?
I purchased this piece today from a popular auction site.

You should just be able to hacksaw it in half but if that's not possible I would just ask you LFS if they have a motorized frag cutter to buzz it in half

I will keep that in mind and give it a try with a hacksaw then when it turns up.

I'm hoping it's what I am after. It's hard to tell from a photo. Its advertised as a 7.6 kg tongan plate so it should be quite substantial. I hope it has a nice texture to it.
