Cuttle with me!

Hey RichieT, I may need to visit the CAS@GoldenGate and pay those cuttles a visit!

I have been meaning to check out '6th Avenue Aquarium' right by GGPark, but traffic in SF makes me bite my knuckles.. lol

The traffic is worth it to see those tanks. They had a whole clutch of babies isolated in the tank as well.

So how do you like them so far? What else have they been eating? Do you think they look at you? Seen any color changing or interesting cuttle behavior? Part of me was really put down that they don't live very long but it looks like they may still be worth it!

I am enjoying their company, and seem like they like their setup.

Cuttlefish behavior which I have noticed was them facing each other and interlocking tentacles while changing colors. It was the type of thing you watch without scrambling for video camera app; so beautiful.

They are about three months old, and this species is known to breed regularly after four

I have a stock of about 18 crabs (emerald, Sally, acro) and 6 shrimp which is slowly depleting due to the cuttles. They also search the substrate for the live ghost shrimp that I regularly add throughout the day.

They have been following me as I pass my tank, and I am sure they sense my presence. Half of my tank has white sand and the other black. I see them rapidly change colors and pigments flow across their tentacles like they are excited. I would be open to breeding them

Great tank!! Glad to see someone who knows how to take care of an animal with special needs dedicate a tank to them. Instead of, this was cute so I bought a pair. Hope they breed and you're able to raise some babies!! *Thumbs up*

I've always wanted to try a species tank for these guys after seeing them in person at the Dallas Aquarium several years ago. They had a tank of 8 or more and it was amazing. Tons of personality!

Amazing little creatures for sure. I was lucky enough to be at Richard Ross's house eight years ago and see a lot of these babies feeding before he bred them at the A.C.S. and became Nationally recognized. The Cuttle's at Dr Fosters come from REEF GEN bred by Laura Birenbaum. Also a very generous nice person to hang around with.

Congrats on the Purchase. Awesome amazing creatures. SOOO cool watch them hunt.

First eggs have been spotted!
So I woke up this morning to a cluster of loose eggs in the back corner of my tank, and thought it was a typical Bandensis ink blob until I stayed longer to see them continuously come out from the rockwork. I have so much live rock, and its hard for me to get a good angle as to where the eggs are laid exactly. For now, I will wait till these swell up for me to take them out and start hatch process.

This is a great sign, and not even a week in!
