hi i'm new to the forums. i have had this cuttlefish for a bout a week... he is in a 50 gallon tank. he was doing fine eating and everything then suddenly started floating to the top but still alive. he tries to swim. parameters are about 78 temp, 1.023 salinity, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite. i do have a skimmer and hob filter. he was eating like a beast for the week then suddenly just started floating to the top and he cant control his swimming. what could this be and is there anything i can do for it at this point?

Welcome to R2R. What are your nitrates? Cuttlefish (and cephalopods in general) are very messy and produce a lot of waste. Cephs can exhibit odd behavior in high-nitrate environments. Additionally, S = 35 ppt is a much better target for cuttlefish and octopuses in terms of salinity.

Is the cuttlefish alone in the tank? Or are there tankmates?

Nitrates are 5 ppm
It is alone in the tank no other tank mates
