Any home made instructions for cuvette cleaning? Chemical? Mad science? Breaking bad? @Randy Holmes-Farley

Also on XR30, I like the par that the high intensity lens give my XR15 and love the diffusion provided over the high intensity. Is this dumb? The corals look good. Just seems opposite. Thanks

If we’re talking about Hanna vials (or any other colorimeter based test kits), than my approach is to never really clean them.

Instead, I simply store them full with RODI water after washing off the sample.
This prevents any build up to form on the glass.

Thank you for the suggestions

Hey @Randy Holmes-Farley !
I am talking about the Hanna Cuvettes for their egg testers. I have to say that reading many of your articles on reef keeping and your depth of understanding makes me kick myself for not going into chemistry.

I don't know what those are made of. Are they plastic or glass?

I'd be much more careful with plastic ones in terms of abrasion.

I rinse with tap water and let them dry.

Rinse 3x with DI water. If there are any residues that won't come off with DI water alone, then wash with soap and warm water, rinse 3x with tap water, then rinse 3x with DI water.

I usually just rinse them with RODI after each use and dry on a 3D printed rack I made to hold them upside down.

While using them I wipe with soft paper towels to remove fingerprints.

Every now and then I use lense cleaning wipes to wipe down the outside if I feel the paper towel isn't doing the trick.

They are consumable, so I do expect to replace them. The ones I have are about a year old, and will get retired soon when I remember to dig the new replacements out of storage.
