Hi R2R, I usually don't like to start a thread that may have been touched on, but I can't seem to find a definitive answer with Twillard's threads on the matter when it comes to sps and dosing for CB.

I am almost certain it's CB using his simple method of checking for CB vs. spirulina. Water is definitely pink. So I dosed 24 mls as my water volume is estimated to be 240 gallons. But then being paranoid I worry about my acros, which I'm having some issues with already.

Anyway, is dosing 1 ml/10 gallons safe for an acro dominant tank? Should I just stop H2O2 dosing? I've never dealt with cyano before so I don't know the best course of action to NOT lose my acros. Not even sure how I got them to begin with.

If the system is unstable I wouldn't go in large steps or doses.
Slow addition of GFO and nitrate ruducers are good too.
Me I'm a refugium guy. Increase flow light and spectrum in the fuge to increase nutrient export. or at least balance the nutrients. So times as I have a high nutrient tank it's just a matter off blowing the gunk. In the DT and make sure you have good flow to get it into the sump and skimmer.

Fwiw cyano is the oldest organism on the planet and is found deep in the rock and deep in the arctic ice. We are also looking for signs of it on comets an Mars. So. It happens. We just try not to feed it too much as its a bad party guest and doesn't like to leave.

In all the 15 years of doing SW FO/FOWLR/Full reef, this is the first time I've ever encountered cyano
