Hi guys, I have a cyano bacteria outbreak and I can’t figure it out. What do you all use to treat it?
Tank 250g
AlK 10.58, Ca 425, Mag 1350
Phos 0 (Hanna)
Nitrates 2.5-5 (salifert)
Ammonia 0
Lights black boxes: 1hr blues, 6hrs blue/whites, 1 hr blues
Tank is four years old this is a fairly new problem. I’ve added flow rearranged power heads etc. It’s Getting worse slowly. Water changes every 2 weeks. Blow off rocks maybe 1x week.... maybe. Lol
Thoughts? Thanks!

If it's red cyano, i had decent luck using chemiclean. I believe it works by digesting the cyano, but you need to increase the oxygen in the tank and perform a large water change after treatment. I dont have the specs handy on the percentage of water to be changed after treatment.

I’ve used chemi clean a few times. Most of the time it works on the first try but depending how bad you have it you may have to treat again. I’ve always done a water change afterwards
