Cyano help

I have been trying to get rid of cyano for a while but nothing seems to get rid of it forever

Running ROWA phos
Tank is about 3 1/2 months old

No sure if you know..but zero phosphates is not a good thing. Those low phosphates allow cyano and dinos to outcompete your good bacteria.

As BroccoliFarmer suggested, 0 phosphate is probably main culprit here, otherwise tank is still young and you are still going through ugly faze. I would start with removing RowaPhos and waiting for phosphate to go up and than the usual things, like decreasing light intensity, removing cyano from sand and rocks.

Siphon as much out as you can. Then treat the tank with Chemiclean. Repeat if necessary. Problem solved, at least for 6 months in my experience. No reason you can’t treat again at a later time.

Don’t let the tang police tell you that you can’t use it. Works like a charm.

I agree. If P is 0 pull the rowaphos as it isn't needed at this point. Also I have used chemiclean for cyano (tho not this bad) with no adverse effects on anything. With as much as you have I would probably vaccum as much as you can first as LPS Bum recommended.

Take out rowaphos . Look at sunnyx page that's what worked for me .

Honestly you tank just looks dirty. You didn't mention filtration but you need more water circulation. Skimmer? Get the funk out. Use a filter sock or HOB filter with floss and blow the crud out of your rocks. Siphon as much cyano as you can before chemi clean. Personally I like red cyano remover, not as disruptive as chemiclean but either will work.

Get the crud out and up the water flow.

In my experience water changes don't help with cyano, you need to clean up the crud first.
