Cyano in Chaeto

Hey from across the pond!
Just picked up some chaeto from a friend to use in my new Algae Reactor- but I’m not sure whether it has cyano in it or not.
First thought is I can’t use it - but can it be washed or should I just bin it???

Maybe try to shake it around in a bucket of saltwater to see if you can clean it off. If not, I would toss it since you are not sure exactly what is in it.
