Well as the title states, I'm having a good amount of cyano showing up in my fuge. It's even starting to spread to my cheato. the good news is its not in my DT. Should I be concerned about cyano in the fuge? would adding a circulation pump help? I should also mention I have a small pile of rubble in there too. Do you think is trapping detritus causing the outbreak? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Welcome to REEF2REEF!! Try cutting back your light in your refugium if you have one. Can you syphon it out? Adding a circulation pump may help. Focus on your means of nutrient export.

I have the light on a reverse photo period so it is on for quite a long time. The tank has 0 phosphates and 0 nitrates

I skimmed most off the top, and added a circulation pump to keep surface water agitated agitnd it cleared up fast and no longer have that issue...

I added a pump to see if that will help. It definitely stirred up some detritus. The pods don't seem to enjoy the added water movement as they all took cover.

High nutrient area coupled with improper lighting equals perfect condition for Cyano growth.
I had it too. Changed my fuge light from the Utilitech Par30 to the Reef Radiance DM-5e and cyano was gone in 5 days. Hasn't been back since :)

I had it in my fuge and not in DT and made mistake of cleaning fuge...now its in DT and not fuge. Argh!!!

I added a pump and I'm probably going to replace the light. hopefully that will take care of it

How big is your fuge area and how big is the pump you added? My fuge is 13x12" and I have a small Koralia 240gph running in mine. Not sure if I even need it anymore as I added it at the time of the cyano outbreak.
After changing lamps you may not need the pump any more :)

Well if nothing else, that where you want it. I had it in mine until I added the powerhead to keep the water moving a bit, that outa help you out. I'd not change my lighting cycle, as who cares if its in there, you know its working the eater conditions for you, and it won't migrate to the DT just because its in the sump.

It can migrate to the DT! Why would you say it won't? Regardless of where it's at. It is an unwanted nuisance and an indicator that something is amiss.
Why treat a sump/fuge any less then you would your DT?

It won't migrate. It stays put. For whatever the reason, it shouldn't even technically be where its at, but for the lack of flow. Like having HA in the Sump and a few other creepy things that grow in there, it stays put.

My fuge is 24L x 12w x 15h it's part of my 55 gallon sump. As for the pump I put in, it is an old Cascade 300 internal filter I had laying around. I just have the filter compartment empty so it's just moving water and not doing any filtering
