Background: In mid to late December I moved from a 32g biocube to a 60/65g custom tank w Fiji Cube 20 sump. It has a small footprint, vertical refugium chamber and I transferred my chaeto into it. It's growing well, but I'm getting cyano collecting in the refugium (tested today, nitrates a little high at 12, po4 at only a trace .006). The display tank has some film algae and a little bit of diatoms, but nothing concerning.

What's the best way to get more water movement in my refugium? I bought this little Sicce pump and had planned on just placing it in the bottom of the fuge, assuming that the water is deep enough that it doesn't cause splashing. Will this work? Would I be better off getting a small powerhead to mount on the side?

that will be more than enough to provide flow in your fuge chamber. another idea is to put an air stone in there.

i have both the sicce pump you posted and a pump, but i use the sicce pump to clean my sump(detritus buildup)

I do have an airpump just collecting dust. Never thought of that. I think I'll just drop that in now and see what happens. The Sicce is supposed to be here tomorrow.

Not surw what size is fuge, if its bigger, 30-50l then maybe sicce voyager nano 1000l....
