Cyano issue

Been dealing with Cyano for the past 2 weeks. System is new. Started it October 8th. System is 150G 5' tank, 30G Sump. Cycle went well and nutrients have been in check since the start. I started using Dr. Times method of Refresh and then Waste Away to get rid of it but after 3 doses of Re Fresh the Cyano isnt looking any better at all. Not sure if i should continue with the Waste Away or not. Cyano is primarily on the right side of the tank but starting to show on rocks on left side.

Kinda wondering about my flow. Have 2 Nero5's one on each side of the tank. Seem to get good flow through middle portion of tank but bottom doesnt get a ton of flow. Enough to move coral polyps around a little but though. Flow pattern is set to 70% on the pulse mode. Should i move the Neros or add more power heads?

Since your cyano is kind of limited to one corner, this may suggest that it is a flow-related issue. Try increasing your flow or moving one of your pumps around.

I found with cyano if you just continue to constantly clean in manually (like twice a week) it will magically just stop coming back after about a month. No chemicals needed.

If you're not willing to put in the elbow grease use chemiclean at the risk of possible detrimental side effects.

Think im going to try that and see how it goes. I had one on back wall and one on side in the beginning but when added a few coral they didnt like it so moved the back wall to side and that helped the coral.

I have Chemiclean but would rather not use it. No problem with the elbow grease.

Whats different about it than ChemiClean? I havent used either. Did a bunch of manual removal and it seemed to slow down a bit but now dealing with Cyano and Dino's. Not sure which type of Dinos yet though.

With how new your tank is are you sure you're not dealing with diatoms? Your parameters seems to be at acceptable levels.

Yea verified under microscope. Had both normal cyano as well as Spirulina. Raised the nutrients up to get some competition going and so far its receding. Right side is almost completely clean and left side is getting there.

Well at least it's verified. I used DinoX to kill my outbreak. It worked great.
