Cyano issue

I have a 40 gallon breeder no sump set up for 3 months and im still battling what im pretty sure is cyano. All my parameters. Any suggestions? New to saltwater! TIA!

You want calcium at 420, magnesium at 1350 and nitrates at 10. Adjust flow so you have no dead spots on the sand. Doesn't look bad at all and you will have various ugly stages the first year. If you have no corals then you do not need lights on either and can allow your tank to develop more biodiversity first. Get a diverse cleaner crew too. Can't tell but looks more like diatoms then red cyano.

How do i do everything ur saying besides the flow and clean up crew? Lol sorry for the basic questions i never get an indepth answer from other forums,pages or local pet stores.

I would say based on the picture you don't have any cyano. The cyano usually makes a pretty thick blanket on the sand and once that happens it'll be more a maroon color and I don't see that here. Looks to me my like diatoms which will subside after the silica is consumed.

You're probably doing water changes to contol Nitrates/Phosphates so keep that up. For me, I actually have silica in my RO/DI water that passes through the membrane so every few months I'll end up with diatoms for a little bit.
