It has been about a year before i have had signs of cyano and suddenly more and more is growing on the sand.
The only things that have changed are the death of my diamond goby for no apparent reason and water changes each week of between 10/25% compared to the 20% each month or less.
Can someone help me get rid of it.
Thanks in advance.

The increased water changes may be limiting the growth of algae species that would otherwise out-compete cyano for available resources in your tank. It may sound counter-intuitive, but an easy solution might be to either do fewer water changes, begin feeding more, or experiment with adding a small amount of nutrients that may be limiting other algal species (iron, silica, etc). A little Chemi-Clean is also effective if you prefer a more aggressive and less holistic approach.
