So I’v been tinkering with building an Algae scrubber for my Fluval AIO and things are going well. Nitrates and phosphates are way down and I’m getting thick rapid algae growth in my scrubber. However, the algae growth is a reddish color and I’m wondering if I’m growing cyano in my scrubber.
Note: I did have a case of cyano 4 months ago that I cleared up easily with Chemiclean. There are currently no signs of cyano in my display tank.

please have a look at these photos and tell me what you think.

Thanks gang.

I’ve been designing a unit to fit specifically into a fluval 13.5 center compartment.. even had some sump lights manufactured to fit perfectly.
So I’m not so sure it would fit in a Biocube. Sorry.
