Cyano or dinos?

Over the last week this stuff has exploded all over the tank. I mean on the walls, rock, sand, refugium and even on my corals.

Does this look like cyano or dinos?

I believe that it's for cyano. I wanted to find out what it was before I bought chemiclean.

Well I did a three day black out with covering all three sides of the tank that show. The stringy stuff has disappeared but the sand is a little brown still. Unfortunately I hear a three day blackout doesn't hurt sps but when I uncovered the tank 50-75% of my sps has is starting to rtn.

Did your Alk Spike. My friend had this same issue, he did the black out, but had his alk on a doser and without the light the SPS didn't use as much as usual, so it created a spike. Which had caused 50% of is SPS to RTN.

I didn't get any alk spike. Maybe it was just too long in the dark. The third day on the blackout was technically started when the lights went out and I went three days and didn't turn the lights back on until the morning of the fourth day. Good news, the dinos or cyano has not returned.
