Hello:

I'm still learning a lot about the hobby and am facing my next challenge of trying to figure out the ugly red slime growing on the rock in my reef tank. My tank is about 5 months old now. I've been lightly scrubbing the rock where it persists every 2-3 days with a tooth brush. The rollermat filtration is great at clearing it up the cloudy tank quickly. I don't have any great pictures, but would describe it as a loose red coating on only the rock with attached trapped air bubbles. I've dosed MicroBacter 7 a few times, but did not observe any changes after several doses. I did boost the amount feeding to ensure nutrients were not low.

Tank is 5 months old....
