Hi all,

this dark red film seems to be much darker than typical red cyano, it's on my rock, sandbed and even on snails.
Is this another type of cyano? and should I treat it with chemiclean?

Long story short, I moved my tank 3 months ago, the sand bed was disturbed a little and now I am facing all sorts of problems, bubble algae outbreak, aiptasia outbreak and now this dark red film, I want to deal with the red film first because it's covering my corals slowly and have killed two corals that was recovering.

Please advise, thanks.

I wouldnt treat with chemiclean. I would try to tackle the root of the issue and do a ripclean to get all that decay out of your sand bed first.

Bubble algae can be carefully removed with your hands and tweezers.

So do you think it's cyano or no? I don't know what the root cause is because nutrient is low so makes me think it's bacteria related

I cant really tell based on the actinic lit photos but mostly every algae outbreak is due to a build up of too much nutrients for it to feed off.
Start with cleaning your sandbed and then see if it comes back. Maybe get some better photos of it under whiter lights.
