*Spirulina
I've got red carpeting that's driving me crazy. Mostly on the sand. I'm having trouble seeing the divisions, but I'm thinking plain old cyano?

Thanks

It is hard to make out clearly, but it doesn't look like spirulina to me.

If you didn't know, spirulina is a form of cyanobacteria but I suspect this is a different strain.

im going to assume cyano, I had this for months and it has decreased by much. weekly changes and diligent sand vacuuming. UV helps too. my post has updates on my tank

Thanks. I had dinos, which I eradicated with uv. It didn't seem to do much for the cyano. I'm trying the hydrogen peroxide method now since it doesn't look like spirulina.
