Cyano or...

So on my red sea reefer 250 thats been up and going since July 2020. I’m getting really good coralline growth, but near it is some sort of Burgundy-reddish stuff I’m concerned might be cyano. Its not slimy, and no dinoflag bubbles popping off it. I took a couple pictures of what I’m talking about. You can see the pink coraline, then the burgundy stuff I’m talking about. Should I be concerned?

No, its stuck on the rock just like/and near the coraline.

If you take a toothbrush to it, does it come off?

No, it seems very hard. If I scrape it, it turns more of a bright red.

If it's hard and doesn't scrub off with a toothbrush then it's coraline

OK thank you. It's been there for about 5 days, so I guess I'll jsut sit back and wait to see what it does.

I might be dealing with Cyano to, looks like the same stuff you have on your coral. How are you treating it?

Sounds like either coraline or turf algae
I would guess coraline
Any pics under white light?

I’ll try to get a few photos later today with just the white LEDs on.
