So I have a cyano outbreak that just showed up over night exclusively in my fuge in the sump. My parameters are all within normal range and it’s a 2 year old tank. The DT is 80 gallons and the sump is 20. I was thinking of pulling my live rock and chateo out and putting it in a bucket while I pull the sump out and do a massive clean to the sump. I am concerned for sure about potentially “shocking” my system. What are your thoughts?

You have been a member for almost 11 years and this thread is only your 2nd message! That is shocking.
About the tank. I wouldn't recommend drastic action considering that the cyano is only "ruining" the fuge in the sump. That is a good place to keep the problem. Tearing everything apart would be the last resort for me. Stability requires slow deliberate response. If you had cyano for 1 day I think you have time to consider and plan carefully how to react.
I don't know what you should do, but if you are that bothered about this considering everything else I know I think you should upgrade the entire system! :) IF you do, please start a build thread. (I don't have one yet but I'm working on that too. )

I had this happen to my fuge too. Just ignored it and it went away. Resetting your fuge sounds like a bad idea imo as you'll put the system out of equilibrium.

Lol. I usually find my answers in other posts. Yeah I’m just going to monitor it for now and your right it’s about time for a new build!
