Randy,

Would stopping vinegar dosing lead to my cyano problem? My nutrients are low as indicated from testing but my cyano problem seems like it in full bloom over the rocks. I can siphon it out over the sand bed just not sure how to rid it entirely. Should I go back to vinegar dosing? I am also going to try and rinse my frozen food and up skimming. Thanks

If you have a powerful skimmer. I would do the opposite and maybe only run it at night. I was told that it could be possible that your removing good bacteria that is causing cyano. You might be removing bacteria and not able to handle nutrients balance.

well i checked my nitrate last night and it was somewhere between 30-40ppm, in an sps tank...thats not good but 0ppm for phos. I am starting back to vinegar dosing today to help these numbers go down. Hope that helps with the cyano as well.

Randy can you chime in here, i really didnt want to have to use one of the cyano ridding products but it seems worse every couple days

Interesting. My skimmers are rated 3-4x my tank volume. I almost always have cyano. I may test that theory out on my frag tank and see if anything changes.

I just hit the tank with some KZ coral snow and MB7 hope that helps gonna do a water change later today...
