I recently moved everything from my 100 gallon to a 180. I probably did this a month ago.

I have a 40 gallon sump/refugium. First compartment is the skimmer, second compartment is the refugium with chaeto, and third is the return pump. I am running a mag 12 that is dialed down a lot.

I am getting cyano growing in the refugium. There is none in the DT that I can tell.

I am running the refuge lights on a reverse cycle as to the DT. DT lights come on from 1pm-9pm and the refuge lights are running from 9pm-1pm.

I am using rodi water to mix the salt and on top offs.

Is this something I should worry about? Or just wait and see what it does?

One important thing I forgot to list is... Ammonia and Nitrite - 0. And from my test kit it seems Nitrate is around 0 as well.

I wouldn't worry about it. I've seen cyano in my sump before but it never seems to stray to the display. I think it has to do with the balance of nitrates to phosphates, but the coral are happy so I am happy.

I have it in mine also. I put two asthera snails in there and they are making a dent in it. Its every where. all over the cheato
