This is maroon coloured a d it seems to grow like hairs and it’s fast. This all started when my nutrients bottomed out to zero nitrates and pho’s. So I over fed for a week and have gotten this. I added some red slime remover and some no pox but it hasn’t changed
Thanks everyone.

Looks like it.
Carbon dosing takes months.
No nutrients is bad.
Too much nutrients is bad.
If your N is in the 2-5ppm range and phosphate in the 0.03-.1ppm range then simply blow that stuff off, suck it up, change your filter regularly and decrease the whites.
Avoid a water change but keep those nutrients stable.
It will pass.

Ok thanks. I just siphoned it up as best as I could. I won’t try to change any water aside from what I just did
It’s a Fluval 13.5 with 3 fish

I just use chemi clean when i have cyano in my tanks. I have a 100% success rate with it and if that doesn’t get rid of it then it’s dinos and then a real war begins.

Normal ugly phase. Only thing I recommend would be keep up with husbandry, manual removal and time. I would actually not recommend treating/dosing with any kind of chemical treatment bc while a lot of time that gets rid of it in the short term, it doesn't help with making your tank achieve stability in the long run bc you are not allowing the biology inside your tank to reach an natural equilibrium.

I posted about this in more detail in This post on what stability means and why really time is the only way.
