Cyano???

Hey all, just ordered a zoa frag and it came today. The plug has this red hard crap on it that I think might be cyano from pictures Ive seen. Never had it though. Anyone know if thats what it is, and if so what should I do with the frag? Its in the process of dipping so thats what the brown in the water is.

No, tried scraping and nothing came off

I dont have a razor blade, but l tried with the tip of my pocket knife and it scrapes off with some work to it

Okay! Is it cyano that can be introduced into my tank and I then have a problem?

Is that something I need to worry about popping all over my tank? Ive already got aptasia and hair algae!!

it's possibly Coraline, there's many different colours of it. usually cyano is fairly easy to remove

Looks like a red hair algae known as Polysiphonia whhich scrape off but would be consumed by snails such as Ninja star, margarita, cerith, trochus and even pitho crabs
