CyanoBacteria getting crazy

I have a 75Gallon Almost 2 year old , I have GFO and CARBON running on my system.
the light I'm using is T5 light bulb , they're approximate 8month old
I leave my light on from 12Pm to 7Pm, I also do weekly water changer on TUESDAY.

So I hear about the vinegar dosing, I don't really know much about
so I want know the right amount to start dosing the vinegar.

I will post picture when I get the time.

Vinegar is not a solution to these guys, it is actually a food to them

Vinegar (carbon dosing) is not a "cure" for Cyanobacteria. Some experience Cyano issues *because* of carbon dosing. Were you thinking Hydrogen Peroxide?

Well it comes down to what species you have. These guys don't care about lighting change. I can grow them in almost complete darkness.

This is a general test (I am working with a third species that may be resistant to H2O2)

The background is different now and I think I am looking older
I have dug more into cyanobacteria as this research continues with outstanding results.

I am working on a third family of cyanobacteria that I am finding in members samples. I will keep in touch!

You need to test nitrate and phosphate. That may send you in the right direction.

Trochus snails actually eat it, in places they can get to. I dropped about 50 in my 200g and cyano was gone within a week. Problem is there are some areas they can't get to because they won't crawl over top of corals. So you still won't eliminate all of it.

I had some large carpets of cyano growing on my sand bed and spreading over most of my rocks 2 weeks ago.
I was amazed how fast it developed and spread.

My solution: blow off the rocks twice a day with a powerhead and blow the carpets off the sand bed with a turkey baster.
Did that for 3 days.
Cleaned the filter socks daily, skimmed wet and dumb daily.
On day 3 I dumped in a bottle of Tiger pods.
I've also got a bottle of Vibrant coming today just in case I want to try that, (bacteria in a bottle) and a bottle of mixed pods on the way.

So far so good. I'm sure it'll come back but I don't want to add chemicals to the tank just yet.
I'd rather increase the biodiversity and see if things will balance out in time.

BTW - I did the same thing when I had a massive outbreak of dinos about 2 months ago and so far no return of the little nastys.
