Cyanobacteria or coralline algee?

I believe it is Cyanobacteria only cause I don’t have any on glass or plastic only on rocks had tiny patch on gravel but removed when I vacuumed gravel on water change day. I made the mistake of buying Coralline Algae in a bottle from arc before tank was cycled being The expiration date on the bottle I went ahead and dumped a whole bottle weeks before starting cycle. I didn’t think anything would make it through the cycling. Any advice Appreciated.

Does not blow off or rub off. I was lead to believe coralline would likey attach to plastic or glass before rocks. That’s why I was leaning the other way.

Nope not really. It would be more to do with your flow than its preference for plastic or glass. I think why they might be more likely to grow on the glass might have more to do with flow from the pumps hitting the glass walls. Coralline love flow and light so as long as your rocks are getting enough of both, coralline will grow.

I’ve never used the reef tank purple drank before, but definitely looks like coralline to me.

Only About 3 months. I though it was kinda early for coralline.

3 months does seem early, but since you jump started it, I’m guessing it might could happen. Update when you know for sure.
