Been keeping an eye on this red stuff on the front rock of my tank, and I had someone tell me it could be the start of Cyanobacteria, but could it also be the start of some red coralline? What do you guys think?

If it doesn't come off the rocks with ease then yes, it could be red Coralline algae.

Purple stuff is coralline. red stuff could be either. try and blow or brush it off the rock.

Definitely does not come off, I think I may have gotten a tiny bit off scrubbing it with a small brush. It does not come off with ease.

Coraline will come in different colors, I have seen green, pink, black, dark red Maroon and of course the purple.

I have the red coraline as well really pretty as long as it doesnt scrape off easily ur good

My wife's tank has some too. It won't come off with a brush but will scrape off with a plastic scraper. Which is it?
