How old is the tank?
How do you export nutrients?
I would kill the lights and stop all feedings until it dies off.
then readjust both so good things thrive and the cyano stays away.
my .02
yes.Will my corals be fine
yes.
the cyano will die off much faster and return nutrients in the correct ratio so the corals, coralline algae, and macros thrive.
then by adjusting you can keep the bad stuff away for good.
It's supposed to.Okay my Phosban reactor will be here friday that will help right

Yes, reducing nutrients is a good plan.![]()
How much gfo should i start with that way i dont harm my sps
I would go to bulk reef supply's website and use their reef calculator to determine how much GFO to use for your tank, then I'd start with half that amount and slowly add more over a couple of weeks, assessing your corals response. In my experience adding too much at once can stress corals, for me it has been mostly evident with my LPS especially acans. Same procedure when replacing spent GFO too.
You could, but if you start small and gradually add GFO it is unlikely to stress your corals; adding a bunch at once and quickly lowering your phosphate a significant amount is more likely to cause stress so if you slowly add it you should've have any problems (kiss of death I know!)
