Recently had a outbreak of this crap that I presume to be cyano, it does seems to be cyano since it has the same characteristics (covers like a mat, easily removable) but does not go away when the lights are out and has never been red only a dark purple/brown. It’s my first time dealing with this stuff and I’m not sure how to get rid of it, I’ve been sandvacing when I do a water change but it just appears the next day, I am running a higher nutrient system but still not sure what exactly this stuff is any help?

I strongly suggest this. Its cheap, affective, and will clear your water:

Most likely Dino’s… and a really bad case! Gonna need a microscope to check.. I’ve never seen cyano like that or Dino’s that bad!
Don’t Dino’s have air bubbles? Hopefully my LFS has a microscope!

Sometimes but not all the time no.. my sand dwellers didn’t! They looked exactly like what you got but half of that.
