I added my full bottle of nitrifying bacteria last night and then added my dr tim’s ammonium chloride (62 gal x 4 drops) and the next day i’m reading at pretty much 0 ammonia.
i’m tank is at 26°c
wave makers running and no filtration
What did i do wrong?

Either nothing wrong or faulty test kit.
With adding bacteria like you did, not out of the question in ammonia being mopped up.
So if the test kit is correct, your cycled and ready for a fishy or two.

it’s reading about 0.25p ammonia. i added 90gal worth of bacteria to about 75-80gal. i’ve just added ammonia directly into my test and it’s reading it so my test kit is definitely working ok.
another person told me my rocks and substrate would have mopped up a lot of ammonia so i should have dosed a lot more

Some kits can’t read below .25ppm ammonia.
If you have sand, rock, saltwater, flow and bacteria, then your cycled.

i only started the cycle yesterday how can it be done already? none of my rock or sand was live
It no longer takes weeks and months to cycle.
This was changed by bottled bacteria.

I don’t even test no more, add, mix give a day, add a fish.

If you have no nitrate, then you're not cycled. The ammonia has to complete the Nitrate cycle. How are you processing Nitrate? I wouldn't call a 24 hour, we added ammonia and now we cannot find it cycled. If the ammonia were brought up correctly, it should take a week or more for the bacteria to propagate, coat the rocks, sand and filter media before you're ready at a min. Something seems off.

What bacteria product did you add?
Some are quicker than others. There's a detailed investigation thread where you can see how long each takes to work

i think that i didn’t dose enough ammonia and my rocks and substrate also absorbed a lot of it. 0 nitrites so i know its not being converted. yet to test for nitrite
. i would’ve have believed it had cycled in a day anyway

i used both dr tim’s one and only nitrifying bacteria and also his ammonium chloride

Did you test for nitrite?

I started last week with 4 dead shrimp, this because I couldn't find ammonium chloride here in the Netherlands.
Futher I use live sand and microbe-lift nite out 2. This are my readings.

I also see almost no NH3 with salifert ammonia test kit, but my NO2 is rising and my NO3 to.
