Hi all,

This is my 2nd time cycling a tank.

1st tank I used dead rock, Fiji pink sand, and Aquavitro Seed to cycle. Tank cycle competed in 3 weeks

Now I’m on my 2nd tank using reef rock (dry), fiji pink sand, and aquavitro Seed to cycle. I’m on the 11th day of running the tank and I still haven’t had any measure any ammonia, nitrite, or nitrate.

I’ve already completed all the dosing for the Seed bacteria. But, do I need to restart the dosage and add amonia source? It’s weird because I didn’t with to my first tank.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Dont think it does.....looks like more of a post cycle additive....
I would add some food into tank to kick start the amon...

if you have ammonium at home, one drop would kick-start everything. Some of those bacteria things do have ammonium in it already, whereas some don't and they simply are meant as additives if I am not mistaken.

OP you are gonna have to feed the tank. Use fish food or ammonium. I prefer ammonium as I feel like I have more control that way

Yeah instructions don’t mention adding anything to the tank. Nor does it say it has ammonium.

Any who. I just added a small amount of frozen brine shrimp to get it going. Does that mean I need to continue dosing bacteria as instructed and or feed the tank daily?

No I wouldn’t think you need more bacteria.

Looks like the directions assumed you were gonna pop fish in. You are good to go now.
