Hey all. I have a biocube 32. Currently on day 15 of the Dr. Tim fishless cycle. My current readings are: PH 7.8 (and dropping) ammonia .25 (and dropping ) Nitrite at LEAST 5.0. That’s the highest the test kit will read and Nitrate also as high as the test will read at 160. should I do a water change now to drop the nitrate and nitrite and raise the pH?

If you’re fish less, let it ride. It’s doing everything it should.
You’ll get a spike in TRITE, followed by a spike in TRATE as the nitrogen is converted.

I’d guess you’ll see a fall off in TRITEs since you’ve got a high reading in both.

As far as pH, it’s an issue I’d fix before adding life, but as the tank contains no life... I wouldn’t hit reset by doing water changes.

Thanks so much for the adivce. I'll wait it out.

yes leave it alone to cycle through. It can be at least 3 weeks or longer to fully complete thr cycle. Have you gone through the "ugly phase" of seeing algae growth all over the place?

IF YOU HAD TO TAKE A REEFING EXAM, WOULD YOU PASS?
