I've been cycling for 12 days now, My tank is a mr aqua 17 and its a bb with 2 big pieces of vida rock.I run lights 8hrs a day and no skimmer (for now) I dose 5ml or Microbacter7 daily and have a tiny piece of raw shrimp. Ph is at 8.2 I have had ammonia steady at .50ppm-1.0ppm and have milky water (algae bloom) for the past 7 days now and 0 nitrites and 0 nitrates. Is this all normal for a cycle that has no LR or LS? I'm not really freaked out since I know this hobby takes patients (Been at it for a year and a half) Just have never cycled a tank like this before.

Any and all advice is welcome or ideas. For now my plan is to just continue waiting it out
Tank specs
SG- 1.026
PH- 8.2
Ammonia- .50-1.0ppm
Nitrate-0
Nitrites-0

You should get a spike in Nitrite some time that I think is when the cycle really starts. Then when nitrite and ammonia are gone the cycle is done.

Just wait it out. Perform small water changes weekly to help kick the cloudy water.

FWIW the "cycle" is never done, what we are trying to do is establish the cycle, the Nitrogen cycle. We do this by encouraging various species of beneficial bacteria growth.

Thanks for the quick responses I'll start doing water changes weekly to get rid of the cloudy water

I wouldn't do water changes. If there's no livestock in the tank, the cycle will go faster if you just leave it alone.
