Hey guys! New to the hobby and wanted some advice. This is day 18 of the nitrogen fishless cycle using doctor Tim’s one and only. The tank is processing ammonia however it doesn’t do it over night more like 48 hrs is this normal? Or should it process faster?

cycled nowadays means the point of lead up where waiting longer, or adding more things can't make the tank safer for fish (only fish disease preps from the fish disease forum can do that now)

you are there. roughly last week or the week before is when that was done (even if the ammonia didn't agree, those tests are very slow in lag report times)

cycled.

Nice awesome thank you. Now onto quarantine my new fish. Do you know if I have a time limit before I can add fish to feed the bacteria? Lol

the old thought is that you must feed them to prevent starvation: not true. the tank is receiving bac food daily via home contaminations, all standing bodies of water/open top/in a home are being fed, an none will stay sterile or revert back to sterility

we need to get you a qt tank cycled and ready though, right?

PS for a QT tank, just dump a whole big bottle of biospira in and call it a day. No need to do constant water changes for ammonia.
