Cycling 120 gallon tank

I started cycling my tank 9 days ago using Dr Tim’s and Ammonia. I tested for Ammonia, Nitrites and Nitrates. There is still ammonia present and the Nitrates are about 50ppm. Does anyone know why Nitrites would be zero?

Most say not to measure Nitrites. You have Nitrate. That's good.

Either a testing error or you have plenty of the bacteria kind that converts nitrite to nitrate.
