Hey guys, looking for some personal experiences. I have combed the threads as much as I could about fishless cycling and watched countless YouTube videos about it.

I have a bottle of Dr. Tim's for my 10g nano. From what I have gathered every tank cycles differently. My question is: Will I be able to put a fish in the tank on the 9th day like the instructions suggest? I understand it will depend a lot on the parameters (ammonia, nitrites, etc..), but I was curious if anyone was close to putting a fish in on the 9th day.

I currently have about 12lbs of MacroRock dry rock with live sand that I rinsed before hand. (I read the whole rinsing the sand forum and was sold on it)

Any tips, advice or experience would be great!

I would plan on 3 months... It will almost always go faster, but don't rush it!

Bad things happen when we rush, particularly when we are talking Nano tanks, there just isn't enough water volume to dilute the pollution.

Are you using Ammonia Chloride?

It's less about days and more about ensuring adequate environment for the fish in your care. Lots of great info here and the net, vids, pictures, science you name it. Google "Reef Cycling". Won't recover it all here. Important part is that you ensure a complete cycle before livestock is added to minimize stress and therefore minimize disease and loss. Good luck.

I recently cycled my new tank with Fritz TurboStart 900 and used AlgaeBarn’s NitroCycle for an ammonia source. Added fish on day 8. It’s been 2 weeks since doing so, and everyone is doing fine. I didn’t overstock the tank, and think you’ll be fine adding one fish to your 10g once your ammonia tests at 0ppm.

My plan is to add a small clown first and then hold off adding livestock for a while
