With luck I'll begin the cycling process next week. I have 30lbs of dry rock coming from Reef Cleaners. How much live rock would I need to help cycle my tank?

Yeah, seen that thread already, thanks! I'm just trying to figure out the minimum amount of live rock I can get by with to cycle. Or, maybe I may just go with straight ammonia in a bottle. I do want some live rock as I want to transfer some of the coralline algae to by dry rock as well.

30 lbs is enough dry rock you can put live sand with dry rock to help a little but honestly taking it slow is the best you can do just wait two weeks and get your water tested. Good luck

I think I'm leaning towards dosing with ammonia and maybe 5lbs of live rock max. I want live rock with the good bacteria, but at the same time don't want to add too much because of fear of pests.
