Cycling a QT tank from scratch

I want to set up a QT tank and start getting ready for my display tank I don't have anything to start with as far as rock or filter socks
The tank will be bare except for some pvc pipe

What's the best way to cycle it or will it cycle?

You need some kind of filtration in there, be it sand, rock or by other means, which can harbour de nitrifying bacteria and start the cycle.
