I am going to start cycling a 90g corner flow and was just wandering if I should go with the lfs and use 6 damsels or raw shrimp, and how many pieces of raw shrimp, I've also have seen people use ammonia where would I find that

hey in my opinion cycling the tank with fish can cause a lot of stress in the fish and they are likely to die ,i will just recommend using the whole month option just buy some raw shrimp throw it in there and wait for the tank to cycle it self i know it sucks to have an empty tank for a month but well that just my opinion

You just try getting those 6 damsels out of a 90 gallon tank when you decide you no longer want them for whatever reasons.

There is absolutely no need or benefit to cycle a tank with live animals.

Personally I like cycling with ammonia if no live rock is used. See below

this subject has been covered, probably thousands of times on R2R. actually, this exact scenario, with multiple damsels is currently being discussed in another thread. please do a quick search, using the search bar in the top right. I see you are new here, thats why I am trying to point you in the right direction

cycling with fish is no longer the recommended method, using pure ammonia is your best bet. and using 6 damsels is a terrible idea!! I would seriously consider finding a new LFS to frequent and at the very least stop taking advice from those guys.
