Hello helpful reefers! I just Restarted my bio Cube 32. I plan on running a sponge filter foam next to intank media basket with purigen, marine pure gems and chemipure elite. I started it 4 days ago and I actually put just the chemipure elite in (with rock and sand).. I now feel as if I should of waited until after cycle to put the chemipure. Is there damage done in doing this or can I just remove? maybe Just put marine pure gems? any Advice is appreciated!

Pull elite back out and reintroduce week #6 It contains a little GFO which is too soon to place in tank

I was under the impression to cycle no chemical filtration should be used. Even mechanical filtration should be avoided for the first week or so.

This practice has always worked for me

I only used filter floss in the top of my first chamber to cycle my Bio cube 32 for the first few weeks of the cycle and it cycled fast and turned out great.
