Cycling dry rock in trash cans

What was the process when you did this?

You have 12 weeks? I would probably just toss a shrimp in and save the money on unnecessary bacterial starters or additives.

100% agreed

add one shrimp to rocks in swirling water

leave in 12 weeks remove at the end if it’s still there. Cycled, won’t fail to cycle free of charge don’t buy bottle bac for this job we are driving a never ending sales machine where our money pays for seller’s vette payments because we aren’t taught to utilize the free and equal stuff from the surrounding environ, that the shrimp decay feeds given three times the wait time from a cycling chart. Jobs like this done free are important, some of us are cycle independents v dependents

So, newbie question on this approach -- in addition to cycling the rocks, will you also start to get coralline algae growth. I'm planning on starting with white Marco Rocks doing my Aquascape and then moving the structure to the Brute trash cans while i wait for my tank to arrive and get that part of my house set up.
