Hey guys it’s going on to 3 weeks now I used Dr.Tim and need some help so I started by the ammonia drops and then stopped when they told me I just did a test and so far this is what I got for my parameters


Salifert tests

Ammonia - 0.15

Nitrite - 4

Nitrate - 100


I heard the some Dr tims ammonia bottles where labeled wrong and it says to do 4 drops per gallon but it was mean to be 1 I’m guess that’s what happened to me seeing the nitrates are so high.


My question is seeing as ammonia is almost at 0 will the good bacteria start to die? Also what can I do?

No, the ammonia has been converted to nitrite, that's all that has happened here. That nitrite will convert to more nitrate.

Are you still dosing ammonia?

Are you doing water changes?

How are you planning on controlling the nitrate?
