Hi Everyone,

I am on day 5 of my cycle but my nitrite and Ammonia have not moved.

What should I do
1) Nothing -> Wait
2) Water Change
3) Another Bacteria
4) Other?

-------------------
Cycled: One and Only (Entire bottle)
Ammonia: Dr. Tims
Test Kit: API

Day 1: added 4x drops per gallon -30%
Day 2: PH8.2, Ammonia: 1, Nitrite: 1
Day 3: Added Ammonia
Day 4: PH8, Ammonia: 4, Nitrite: 1
Day 5: PH8, Ammonia: 4, Nitrite: 1 -> I am here

Tank: 10g
Filter: Floss only
10pds dry rock and 10pds live sand

Thanks T

Give it a total of 2-3 weeks. Five days is still early, you might have over dosed the ammonia, I'm not sure. Do not add more ammonia and just wait. Also, get rid of the API kit and get some salifert kits. API is known for their crappy kits and inaccurate readings.

Right now I am just running a spong should I put my Chemical-Pure and Purigen in?

I would add another bottle of bacteria, but that's just me. Maybe a different brand. Ammonia over 4ppm can destroy the bacteria.

I dont think that would do any good IMO. He needs to wait for the ammonia to go down either way.

Do not add anything. Keep lights, skimmer, and UV off. Do not remove the sponge as well. If you want to speed it up, raise the temp to 27 Celsius over the next 2 days and once the tank is cycled take it back down to 25 over the course of 2 or 3 days so you can start adding livestock.
