The closest saltwater LFS to me is 90 miles away so I can only purchase grocery store water.

I have already ordered my tank and ro/di unit online. My ro/di unit won't arrive until Tuesday.

Im going to LFS city tomorrow for doctor appointment and would like to pick up some live rock while I'm there.

Would it be ok to put it in a tub with saltwater made from tap water for about 4-5 days?

I will use a heater and powerhead as well.

Really depends on your water source. I would suggest atleast going with distilled from a grocery store if you are deadset on cycling now. 90% chance you will be fine with tap but its not something I love risking.

I personally would not, unless you know that your tap water does not have any contaminants that could affect livestock in the future.

Just wait so that you can be set-up for a higher chance of success!

I would wait until you can provide it appropriate water, inconvenient now but could save your tank down the road.
