Cycling my new tank with chemiclean?

Wonder if anyone is ever dosed their new tank with chemiclean to oxidize the garbage trapped in the rocks. I added a bunch of rock from a guy’s tank, but I am thinking of dosing heavy with chemiclean for a while to help break down the trapped detritus and whatnot.

Any ideas, thoughts?

Tank is Red Sea Max S 650

was running two weeks ago but rocks have dried out completely.

You should cure the rock instead

Not sure i understand exactly what you are trying to do, but i would not do what you are describing. If you are adding rock and dont want to risk a mini cycle then you will need to cure the rock Seperately. If it is just a tiny amount of rock compared to your pre-existing rock, you probably wont need to do anything special.

It was for the initial cycle. I got about 175 lbs of cycled rock, but it dried out on the drive from FL to ND. I went ahead and added chemiclean to kind of fast-cure the rock - and I am really happy with the results. I am too impatient to cure the rock since this is in my office and it needs to look nice, which is why I wanted to do it this way instead. I ran the chemiclean for a few days before I skimmed off the overflow craziness. - Now I am on Day 6 of the Red Sea Reef Mature Cycle and tested all levels and they are right where they should be according to Red Sea. .50ppm Ammonia, Alk is high at 9.4 because I used the salt I had, and it's coming down. Rocks look great, but aren't bone white - and the Coraline is starting to spot, I'm not super worried about it, but again - Red Sea... At the end of the cycle, I am going to do a 100% Water change a couple of days before adding the first fish. Just to make sure I'm starting them off with the best foot forward.
