Ok so I got my rocks in a bucket with a pump. I added some clean salt water (probably 2gallons) and about a gallon of water out of my tank from a recent water change.

Will that help with cycling?

What’s the fastest way to cycle them?

When swapping out old rocks for new rocks can i just take the old ones out and put the new ones in or should I try and leave the old ones in there for a week or so after placing my new ones in?

Why are you replacing your rocks? Just going to a different scape? Or is there something wrong with them? If their good could put 1 or 2 in the bucket of new rock to help seed them with bacteria. Or get a bottle of bacteria to help speed it along. Do you have an ammonia source in the bucket? Either ghost feed or raw table shrimp. I like to dose straight ammonia when I cycle a tank

Just don’t like it anymore and with the new Rainbow chalice I have coming in i don’t have room for the way it is set up now. I guess I should run to my local fish store and grab some bacteria and maybe some ammonia. That’s gonna have to be on Tuesday cuz they aren’t open on Monday.

Could you rearrange your current rocks? Maybe remove a few pieces? What size tank? Do you have a sump? I have a 75 and had to much rock to begin with. Ended up putting a few pieces in my sump to make more room in my dt

This is my new set up.

I’m probably going to leave some of my old rock but it will be the piece i sit under my chalice. This gives me a smaller footprint. I placed 1inch pvc tubes under each of those base rocks to lift it up out of the sand
