Im restarting my 55 gallon tank and I’m adding water on Sunday. I’m using a HOB cpr refugium and a tunze 9004 doc skimmer is there anything else I need to cycle the tank? Also when do I add corral one algae? Any and all advice is welcome and I really appreciate it!

Besides water , filter and skimmer .
You will need rocks and to decide if you’re adding sand bottom or bare bottom .
A few test kits ( salifert , Hanna Red Sea are all good .
At this time api kits will
Work but not accurate

a good refractometer to measure salinity .
Corals ..... unfortunately you’re a little while away from adding corals .
You have a little wait before putting any livestock .
A few key rules to follow
1) patients . Nothing happens fast in this hobby
2) never dose anything you can’t test the need for
3) patients
