Curing good ole ocean liverock--I got my hands on 80lbs of Jakarta rock. I did a 30% water change, ordered new nitrate and ammonia test kits, decided to check phosphate, yikes .32! I havent cured/cycled real rock since the early 90's, I don't think we even checked po4 back then. Should I just continue doing water changes (can do 30% 4-5 of 7 days/week) or should I also add gfo?

Where did you get Jakarta rock :o ,

Where did you get Jakarta rock  ,
Carolina Aquatics has some in stock. Of course they are wholesale only, so I had my LFS order it for me. LFS picked it up at the airport and I immediately got it from them. It looks just like the videos on Carolina Aquatics website. I posted a couple pics in my build thread

How much is a pound if you don’t mind

As for your curing issue with high phosphates , id personally let my live rocks (Aussie and Tampa ) push through the cycle , although I did not bother to check phosphates and then at the end do some massive water changes

Let it ride. 0.3 is not necessarily too high anyway. I often get to 1 and everything is fine.
